While many players will want to plough through the story, some want to enhance V’s love life with Cyberpunk 2077 romance options. This involves romancing one of the many NPCs characters which can be done depending on a number of different factors.
The romance system in Cyberpunk 2077 is quite rudimentary and follows dialogue choices you make in the game with a small number of characters. Romancing characters will not necessarily change the outcome of the game even though there are multiple endings to explore. Only one of these endings relies on romancing the Panam NPC.
Looking for Cyberpunk 2077 Romance
NPC characters will be more attracted to certain traits such as attraction to a particular sex or both. Even body types could play a part in whether a particular character is attracted to your version of V. Therefore choices you make can determine your success at getting involved with a character in the game.
While CD Projekt has not fully explained how the system works, we do know that players will have to work at building a relationship with a character before things go further. This may involve getting involved in a particular character’s plotline so quest and dialogue choices do matter.
Despite your best efforts at character romancing, there is no guarantee a closer relationship will emerge and simpler friendships between you and characters may be the final outcome. Again, dialogue choices play a part here.
Some characters in the game may already be involved with another character in the game. In this case, your character of desire may not be romanceable. Attempting to do so will bring some interesting dialogue or consequences. Ultimately, it’s not important to the flow of the game.
CD Projekt has said that how your character looks may also play a part when it comes to successfully romancing another character. NPCs are going to have some preferences that need to be taken into consideration. However, this does not appear to be strong factor, dialogue choices are the most important.
Unlike The Witcher 3, this game caters to all types of sexual attraction whether straight, gay, or bisexual. Most things are possible in Night City.
Once a relationship is established, the game will feature sex scenes. These scenes are viewed in first-person like the rest of the game.
V is also able to have fleeting sexual encounters which also includes prostitutes for those looking for a one night stand. The ‘Joytoys’ are few and far between in night city and the two that frequent Jig Jig street are purely there for titilation.
The game’s scenes are not too explicit, but with its mature rating, there’s plenty of moaning and groaning and cutaways as the characters change positions. In other words, do not play these with the kids around or in the office.
NPCs to Romance
Below are the confirmed romanceable NPCs and which sex of V they are attracted to.
Quests to unlock romance option
- Judy Alvarez – Complete Disasterpeace mission
- Panam – Complete Ghost Town mission and agree with her throughout her plotline.
- River – Undertake the I Fought The Law side quest and then The Hunt.
- Meredith Stout – Side with Militech in The Pickup mission. Meredith will eventually invite you to chat and you need to choose the dialogue option where V wants to see her “ink”.
- Kerry Eurodyne – Romance starts during the Off the Leash mission.
Disappointingly the romance options are limited to the above choices.
