Microsoft has not gone quite as far as Sony but there is now a warning message for all potential customers intending to buy the game online.
Since the game launched, owners of last-gen consoles have been less than pleased with the game on older hardware. This has now prompted an apology from CD Projekt and some patch news.
CD Projekt confirmed that there will be backward compatibility on next-gen consoles earlier today. They also mentioned that there would be a free upgrade to a next-gen version but it’s not going to be this year.
Yesterday’s release date delay was disappointing and there’s been speculation that the delay was down to the release of the next-gen consoles. Today CD Projekt has reassured console owners there will be Cyberpunk 2077 console backward compatibility as well as a free upgrade.
