Cyberpunk 2077 weapons and items are acquired as you play. Weapons and gear are also upgraded and purchased at weaponsmiths throughout Night City. Players can acquire gear by completing key missions or from key characters that appear in the game.

Cyberpunk 2077 Weapons and Items Quality

There are five item qualities in the game. Items also have their own stats so you will be changing gear throughout your playthrough of the game.

  • Ordinary
  • Unusual
  • Rare
  • Epic
  • Legendary
  • Iconic

Iconic items are the cream of the crop and expect to find these from encounters key plotline enemies in the game.

Projectile Weapons

Players can expect to find an array of weapons including:

  • Shotguns
  • Machine Guns
  • Submachine Guns
  • Assault Rifles
  • Handguns

Projectile Weapon Categories

  • Power Weapons – Conventional weapons which are more common and cheaper.
  • Smart Weapons – These are auto-targeting weapons with cooldowns.
  • Tech Weapons – Electromagnetic powered weapons with a high velocity. Can penetrate armour and cover objects.

Manufacturer Tiers

There are numerous weapon manufacturers in Cyberpunk 2077. Each manufacturer provides weapons for different sections of the market. The manufacturers in the top tier create the most advanced weapons in the game.

Weapon Limits

Players can carry three weapons as well as additional Cyberware that may be fitted on a character.

Melee Weapons

Players can expect to find blades, knives, bats etc.

Augmenting Weapons

Placing a modification into mod slots on weapons will improve them. These mod slots add a secondary function to the weapon such as a secondary fire mode.

Clothing

Clothing such as jackets provide armor and even Street Cred which is a form of experience a player acquires from completing side missions and leveling up. Street Cred unlocks new vendors and content throughout Night City where gear can also be acquired. Below you can see images of different jacket types with the colour line indicating the quality of each item.

Cyberware

There are also different types of Cyberware that are attached to V’s body to enhance performance or add extra abilities. See the section on Cyberware.

Dual Wielding?

CD Projekt has confirmed there will be no dual-wielding of any weapons.
